A 40 years old man from Nnewi  in Okpunoeze village in Uraugu community , Anambra, were on Wednesday thrown into mourning over the murder of Mrs Bene Ikegwuonwu, 70, by her son, Chinedu Ikegwuonwu, The  incident occurred at about 8 a.m. after an altercation between the duo over a piece of land belonging to the suspect’s younger brother. Mufutu Nyongesa, 25, from Tande village in Kenya  died on Monday after drinking excessive amounts of alcohol on an empty stomach. The decessed is said to have been drinking with friends at a local bar when they decided to have a competition. The prize was more alcohol for the one who managed to drink the most in the shortest time, he is said to have gulped down two bottles of concentrated spirit donated by other revellers before he started experiencing stomach problems. The deceased’s wife, Anne Naliaka, said he had left home to check on his motorcycle at a repair shop but did not return as promised. “He had asked me to cook ugali for supper but he didn’t show up. I felt bad, thinking he had decided to eat in a hotel. But later I received a phone call from someone saying he was vomiting and needed urgent medical attention,” Naliaka said.   A 19 year old Dorcas Adilewa, who planned her own kidnap to defraud her father, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command. The News Agency of Nigeriareports that the suspect planned the kidnap in connivance with one Ifeoluwa Ogunbanjo, her friend, who provided location and a phone to contact her parents. The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Imohimi Edgal, said that the suspects were arrested on July 13 following a report by the suspect’s father at Ketu Police Station. “On July 7 at about 5 pm, Adilewa Taiwo of No. 3, Kosumi Lane, Bello-Ketu, Lagos, reported at Ketu Police Station that he received a call from phone number 09057432362. “He was told that his daughter, Dorcas Adilewa, was being held hostage and that if he does not want her killed, he should pay a ransom of N600,000 to secure her release. “Investigation into the case was immediately commenced and the above phone number that was used by the suspects was geo-located to Ijebu-Igbo area of Ogun State.

Sunday said he was arrested around 12pm on Thursday, July 19, 2018, in the Iyana-Oworo area of Lagos State He added that the policemen said he was a yahoo boy (Internet frauds  the 26-year-old was on his way to a supermarket to buy some drinks before the SARS operatives accosted him, telling him to enter a commercial bus. I used to know this insect but I never knew it was very dangerous until I saw what it did to this innocent child. The boy's skin have been peeling off since he was bitten by this insect. Doctors said they don't have any treatment for its venom because it has not been discovered by scientists.
